Thanks to my friends for bringing me out for a hangout, I was able to have a 🍅 (catch up) session with them. And, last night, I was able to kill two birds with one stone. I took the opportunity to start my journey in reviewing my first piece of dessert!

Shaq O Neal from Tenor

The first dessert that I ate is called as Caramel Eclair. Below are few details that I want to share with you guys so you guys can go there and have a taste for yourself (~ ̄▽ ̄)~:
- Location: Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, Riverside
- Price: $BND 3.50

No need to thank me 😎✌

Ok, lets begin. As mentioned before, I had an Eclair. I never heard of this word before. So I did some research afterward. It was name that way because it was eaten quickly. Basically, Eclair has an oblong shape made of choux dough. It is filled with cream and topped with chocolate icing. It is originated from France. It used to be called “Petite Duchesse”. Based on historian speculations, they believed it was first made by a famous French chef, Antonin Careme (Éclair, 2020).

Standard Eclair

I took the time to see the ‘standard’ Eclair visual online and here are couple of photos that I found on some websites

Chocolate Eclair from The Flavor Bender
Chocolate Eclair from Sugars Spun Run (Sam)

This is only based on my personal opinion, some looks really good but some look less appetising. However, it may taste super delicious. Luckily, the Eclair that I had looks surprisingly different.

The Eclair from the Coffee Bean looks premium and elegant. They put effort on the visual. Different for the icing part, they use solid chocolate plating on top together with caramel and tiny golden icing which fascinates me. I thought it was a real gold (⊙o⊙)! Then, I begin to dissect the cake cause I want to see the cut-section structure.

As you can see, the filling is quite thick. The structure is quite nice. It just felt messy when cutting the Eclair into two as the chocolate plating is not intact. Maybe it is more comfortable to just grab it and have a bite😋 .

Despite that, the overall taste complimented each other. The chocolate sweetness provide good combination with the caramel filling. Plus, the dough was not that hard enable me to chew it without any problem. It was just too sweet for me as the chocolate plating was quite thick (。﹏。) .

So my final rating for the Caramel Eclair is 4 out of 5 cookies! 🍪🍪🍪🍪

Oh yeah, I will rate every dessert using cookies system. 4–5 cookies mean I can eat it many times at one serving

It does not make sense but it is for me hehe. That’s the end of my first review! Until next time folks 😎
